Feedback regarding mtex+ & LiMA 2016

6th “mtex+” in Chemnitz: new profile as an exhibition for the complete world of technical textiles is a success

“The new profile of the “mtex+” exhibition as a place to discover more about the complete world of innovative technical textiles was a success. It was not only possible to observe an in-depth exchange of ideas at the stands of more than 100 exhibitors from six different countries, but specific business and cooperation arrangements were also pretty much launched in many cases,” says Michael Kynast, the Exhibition Manager, summing up his impressions. The Czech Republic was the exhibition’s official partner country for the first time.

The supporting programme at the “mtex+” included a special exhibition and a symposium on medical and health textiles, the 15th Chemnitz Textile Technology Conference, the “NanoMatTextil” technology forum organised by the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research and a special day for specialists and students.

The 6th “mtex+” was held alongside the 4th LiMA Lightweight Design Exhibition. The topics there were composites and textile-based lightweight design. The trade visitors to the “mtex+” and LiMA made use of the opportunity to also gain an impression of what was taking place outside their specific field of interest at the Saxon Industry and Technology Fair (SIT) and an IT user forum, which were held at the same time. Overall, more than 3,500 exhibition visitors gained information from the 280 exhibiting companies and research institutes. The three exhibitions were held under the heading “Value added3 – technical textiles meet lightweight design meets industry and technology”.

Qualitative leap

Jan Hermansky, President of the Czech Cluster for Technical Textiles, CLUTEX
“I last attended this exhibition four years ago and am pleasantly surprised – the “mtex+” has taken a huge leap forward in terms of quality. The German/Czech meeting of business people on the evening of the first day of the exhibition was also a success for us; it provided valuable contacts between customers, vocational training colleges and research institutes.”

Intensive discussions

Sören Klein, Managing Director of ELMATEX GmbH Krefeld, the organiser of the joint stand with seven providers of textile finishing and other textile technologies
“We held excellent discussions with a whole range of well-informed specialists from Saxony, Thuringia and Franconia – and also with experts from the Münsterland region and the Czech Republic. This has strengthened our intention of attending the next “mtex+” again with a joint stand.”

Starting point of community projects

Marcel Bulik, Lanex a. s. Bolatice
“We manufacture ropes, belts and cords, but we particularly presented our high-tech polypropylene yarns in Chemnitz. This not only led to many new contacts with potential customers, but we were also able to get to know partners from sectors like machine accessories and machine servicing. The contacts with the Institute for Materials Handling and Polymers at Chemnitz University of Technology were also interesting for us.
